The unique artwork by the Miaz Brothers The Life represents a still life, with a goose lying on a table surrounded by various elements.
Using airbrush and acrylics, the Italian duo create enigmatic and evocative works with out-of-focus contours that stimulate the viewer's visual and cognitive perception, effectively inviting them to complete the work. The artists say: "We try to provide a visual experience that activates awareness, that forces the viewer to recognise and re-establish the limits of their own perception".
Like other works by the Miaz Brothers, The Life is inspired by the work of the Great Masters of the past and draws on the still life genre, particularly popular in the 17th century, with allegorical elements that allude to the fleeting nature of life and beauty, reminding us of our ephemerality.
The Life was created in 2020 using acrylic paint on a canvas measuring 163 x 130.5 cm. The work is signed in original on the back.
