The work by Stik Holding Hands-Red is a colour lithograph on paper signed in original by the artist.
In this work on a red background, street artist Stik presents one of his most iconic subjects: two stylised little men holding hands as a sign of universal love and solidarity. Through his creations with their simple and immediate language he communicates important messages, focusing on social causes, in particular the rights of the LGBTQ+ community and the homeless.
In his works Stik brings his characters to life by assembling basic figures such as dots, lines and circles, accompanied by bright solid colours.
Stik created a large sculpture with the subject Holding Hands in Hoxton Square, East London, and donated it to the Hackey Council in order to promote public art in his hometown.

The Brithis street artist Stik, internationally known, was born in Hackey (East London) in 1979. Of his private life, other than the fact that he is a self-taught artist and lived in homeless shelters for years, nothing is known. His career began when, in his early twenties, he began painting unofficial, socially conscious murals on the side walls of buildings in his hometown. Stik's style is simple, and his stylized characters come to life from the union of elements such as dots, lines, and circles and the use of an essential palette of black and white, sometimes accompanied by garish solid colors. Despite their simplicity, through his works Stik conveys powerful messages and deals with important issues, such as the rights of the LGBTQ+ community, homelessness, and the destruction of public housing. The works of Stik have been featured in important collaborations, including those with Amnesty International and the Reclaim the Streets collective. Today his walls can be seen in Europe, America, and Asia, and his works are increasingly rare and coveted by collectors.
