Jean-François Perroy, better known by his pseudonym Jef Aérosol (1957, Nantes), is a pioneer of international street art. His creativity knows no bounds, bringing to life portraits of public figures and anonymous individuals, all preferably immortalized in black and white and distinguished by an enigmatic red arrow – the artist's recognizable signature and trademark. Through his works, Jef Aérosol explores the fine line between absolute fame and complete oblivion, using iconic forms and stereotypes, both renowned and anonymous, in search of the hidden place where extremes meet and identify themselves. Famous characters and everyday people, young and old, alive and not: they are depicted together to highlight the pure humanity in each.
