HOGRE - HOW TO WIN

How to Win by the artist Hogre is a silkscreen print on paper, belonging to a limited edition of 35.

This work measuring 35 x 50 cm is signed and numbered in original by the artist.

At the top of the work, the Roman artist inserts a provocative sentence inviting the viewer to be free and independent: 'How to Win? Do not take the bait, cut the line', as he often does in his artworks. Hogre is internationally known for his unauthorised interventions in public space that invite viewers to reflect critically on various issues, such as consumerism and capitalism.

Street artist Hogre depicts a small fly, a recurring symbol in his production.

Hogre

Hogre, an internationally established Roman street artist, lives and works in anonymity and is best known for his unauthorised interventions in public space. The artist Hogre began his career in 2006 when he provocatively covered Berlusconi's election billboards with red noses. His works are true Subvertising - a combination of the English terms subvert and advertising - which consists of the 'creative vandalisation' of billboards, inviting viewers to reflect on the massive use of advertising and commercial images in modern society. Linguistic subversions in order to unmask the mechanisms of capitalism are a further mainstay of Hogre's works. In the murals, he usually sign off with the drawing of a fly, his unmistakable logo. Hogre has exhibited in numerous solo and group shows and was also one of the protagonists of the Steal This Poster project presented by the MACRO museum in Rome in 2019.
