The artwork TroubleVsGlueVsHogre (Maru), created by Hogre on glass using stencil technique.
This piece depicts a stylized face with sharp and bold features reminiscent of a poster shape, in line with Hogre's approach to Subvertising. The choice of glass as a medium may symbolize the fragility and transparency of social and politicalstructures challenged by the artist. The face seems to gaze at the viewer, perhaps in a gesture of challenge or direct confrontation. The predominance of black on a light background suggests a powerful and unmistakable statement, reflecting the critique of visual and commercial monoculture typical of contemporary society that Hogre often expresses in his works.
TroubleVsGlueVsHogre (Maru) is a unique artwork by Hogre measuring 60.5 x 120 cm.

Hogre, an internationally established Roman street artist, lives and works in anonymity and is best known for his unauthorised interventions in public space. The artist Hogre began his career in 2006 when he provocatively covered Berlusconi's election billboards with red noses. His works are true Subvertising - a combination of the English terms subvert and advertising - which consists of the 'creative vandalisation' of billboards, inviting viewers to reflect on the massive use of advertising and commercial images in modern society. Linguistic subversions in order to unmask the mechanisms of capitalism are a further mainstay of Hogre's works. In the murals, he usually sign off with the drawing of a fly, his unmistakable logo. Hogre has exhibited in numerous solo and group shows and was also one of the protagonists of the Steal This Poster project presented by the MACRO museum in Rome in 2019.
