Jacopo Ceccarelli, aka 2501, artist born in Milan in 1981, began painting graffiti and letters on train carriages at the age of 14, tagging himself 'Never'. 2501, a stage name corresponding to his date of birth, took over after living for years in São Paulo, Brazil, an experience that proved fundamental for his artistic maturation.
His production is multifaceted, in fact, the artist 2501 ranges and experiments with different techniques: from videos to paintings, from sculptures made of recycled materials to organic elements, from black and white to colour. For the artist, gestures and the movement of the hand on the surface are fundamental elements; his research focuses on abstraction, lines and the solids and voids of which his works are composed. 2501 has exhibited in prestigious museums such as the MACRO in Rome, the Milan Triennale and the Luigi Pecci Centre for Contemporary Art in Prato. In 2009, he also won the Street Art Award at the Metropolis Art Prize thanks to the video 'Mask' that was screened in Times Square in New York.
