At the center of Star Crossed are two recurring subjects in his works, D*Face, in fact, often represents characters who embrace or in affectionate attitudes.
Although the two share the space within the frame, their bond appears interrupted by the different types of media on which they were created: the woman on the digital screen, while the man on paper. For the artist D*Face, in fact, technology can be an obstacle, in this work it seems as if it is interrupting something intimate between the two. The man maintains a static position, while the woman transmits a feeling of dynamism because of the colored flames - digitally generated by the hidden screen - that constantly move on his silhouette.
The art of D*Face is called "aPOPcalyptic" because the street artist in his creations blends the universe of comics with human weaknesses, giving rise to dysfunctional characters.
In this work of 30 x 33 cm the artist inserts his iconic wings on the hair of the male subject.

Dean Stockton, aka D*Face - street artist known internationally - was born in 1978 in London, the city where he received his artistic training. From the very beginning of his career, the artist has been inspired by American culture, ranging from skateboarding to punk-rock music.
Pop Art, Lichtenstein, the world of comics and cartoons constitute important reference points for the realisation of his works. D*Face, in fact, proposes a unique style, defined by himself as 'aPOPcalyptic', precisely because, despite referring to a pop imagery, he prompts the viewer to reflect on the alienation typical of contemporary society. One of the main themes of his poetics is precisely criticism of consumer society, from which he takes idealised and stereotyped representations to distort and question them.
The artist D*Face has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Europe, the United States and Asia and has created walls all over the world.
