D*Face's artwork, Romance 2020 HPM – Pink Smile 1, is a hand-finished screen print on canvas, numbered, and originally signed by the artist.

At the center of D*Face's works, he places dysfunctional characters, symbols of the alienation characterizing contemporary society. In this piece, the unmistakable style of the London-based street artist emerges, drawing inspiration from the world of advertising, comics, cartoons, and Pop Art, especially Lichtenstein. D*Face, in his artistic production, references the characteristic "dots" of the American artist, inspired by the halftone pattern.

The title of the artwork, Romance 2020 HPM – Pink Smile 1, refers to the two protagonists kissing while wearing masks with a stylized pink smile drawn on them; the artist D*Face, in fact, alludes to romanticism during the pandemic.

D*FACE - BIOGRAPHY

Dean Stockton, aka D*Face - street artist known internationally - was born in 1978 in London, the city where he received his artistic training. From the very beginning of his career, the artist has been inspired by American culture, ranging from skateboarding to punk-rock music.

Pop Art, Lichtenstein, the world of comics and cartoons constitute important reference points for the realisation of his works. D*Face, in fact, proposes a unique style, defined by himself as 'aPOPcalyptic', precisely because, despite referring to a pop imagery, he prompts the viewer to reflect on the alienation typical of contemporary society. One of the main themes of his poetics is precisely criticism of consumer society, from which he takes idealised and stereotyped representations to distort and question them.

The artist D*Face has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in Europe, the United States and Asia and has created walls all over the world.
