The artistic journey of street artist Biancoshock (Milan, Italy, 1982) began in 2004, after a decade of experience in the world of graffiti, which transmitted to him a natural inclination to consider the city as a stage for his works. From the beginning, he expresses himself mainly through independent urban installations with the aim of provoking reflection in the viewer, sometimes in an ironic way, sometimes in a provocative way, trying to interrupt and emotionally shake his daily routine.
In his works, Biancoshock uses elements that are easily recognizable as belonging to Western pop culture: stuffed animals, puppets, toys, well-known brands and household objects are decontextualized and transformed through a conceptual and linguistic operation, acquiring new meaning.
Artist Biancoshock has developed a new form of avant-garde, which he called “Ephemeralism”. This approach aims to create experiences - as Biancoshock calls his installations - that, while existing only briefly in space, are perpetuated through photographic and video documentation with no time limit. The main themes explored by the artist include environmental issues, poverty and the stresses of modern life, making his art accessible to all, across borders and differences.
